December 25 – Photo. Sift through all the photos of you from the past year. Choose one that best captures you; either who you are, or who you strive to be. Find the shot of you that is worth a thousand words. Share the image, who shot it, where, and what it best reveals about you.
This is definitely one of the more difficult prompts to work with. Since I try to get out and shoot more photography on my own, it’s become more and more obvious that I am not in many photographs. So it is a rare day indeed when I do get caught in a photograph, and rarer yet when I think it’s a good picture!
My good friend Rob managed to sneak this picture of me on his cell phone while we were tailgating the Buffalo Bills’ home game opener against the Miami Dolphins. I was completely oblivious to the fact that he had even taken the photo, as I was probably busy putting a tweet up on Twitter I’m sure. But I think it really does capture a few things about myself.
Despite my high-strung nature and anxiety (that’s highly internalized), I am a very laid back individual externally. When I’m in a comfortable moment, I really just kick back, relax, and try to share the enjoyment with the others I’m with. Except when I’m tweeting, apparently.
On note with the tweeting, I’m a highly curious person. It pushes me to easily be an early-adopter with many things, provided I have access to them. Shoot, half the time I usually get kept out of the loop because of closed alphas/betas on software, or whatever it is that I’m after! I am often striving to entertain myself, so I’m always looking for that next cool little gadget to entertain me.
Lastly, you can get me to do about anything if you just sell it (and/or the people associated with it) to me a little bit. I enjoy a bit of football, but I’m usually not so thrilled about it that I’m dying to go see the games in person, let alone even tailgate at the games. However, I love the feeling of camaraderie and community among friends, so I can be goaded into doing many a thing, should there be a desire to include me.
As an added note, it was raining that morning briefly. I could have cared less; I was having a great time with my friend!
